Young American athlete Sha’Carri Richardson has come up with not so delightful news for her fans. The 20-year-old sidelined all the rumours of her participation in the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother, a popular reality show in the West.

“Sha’Carri was contacted months ago to be on Big Brother and declined. All coverage on her participating are false and simply just rumours,” her representative, Ashley Blackwood, said in an interaction with TMZ Sports.

For those who don’t know, Sha’Carri was a favourite to represent the United States at last year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, her dreams were dashed when she failed a drug test with cannabis in her system. The Texas native sprinter later went on to grab all the headlines when she appeared in a Beats by Dre commercial which featured a first listen of Kanye West‘s song “No Child Left Behind.”

“I want to take responsibility for my actions. I know what I did and what I’m not supposed to do. I know what I’m not allowed to do and I still made that decision,” Richardson admitted to eating a marijuana edible. “Not making an excuse or looking for any empathy in my case but being in that position of my life and finding out something like that — something that I would say has impacted my life positively and negatively in my life when it comes to dealing with the relationship with my mother — that definitely was a heavy topic on me.”
