ATP Cup 2021: Dennis Novak vs Benoit Paire Preview, Head-to-Head and Prediction
Benoit Paire

World number 100 Dennis Novak will be eager to play for his country at the ATP Cup after some eye-catching wins at Cologne 1 last October where he beat Jordan Thompson and Benoit Paire against the odds.

The 27-year-old did well to beat Guido Pella in his only ATP Cup victory last year and will hope to emulate that as one of the lower-ranked players in this tournament.

Benoit Paire struggled with fitness and form after the August restart to the tennis season last year and could struggle to stay in the top 30 in 2021 as so many young players continue to improve.

The Frenchman was part of a spirited Team France at last year’s inaugural ATP Cup where he played three deciding set singles matches, beating Nicolas Jarry and Dusan Lajovic but falling to Kevin Anderson to see France miss the cut.

Dennis Novak vs Benoit Paire: Head-to-Head

Dennis Novak

The duo will meet each other for the third time. They have shared a victory each previously. The H2H stands at 1-1. Paire won the first time they met at US Open 2018. However the last time they met, Novak got the better of the Frenchman in straight sets at Cologne 1 in 2020.

Dennis Novak vs Benoit Paire: Prediction

Benoit Paire

Both the players haven’t been on their best forms lately. Although the Austrian won the last time they met, it will be difficult for him to match the Frenchman again.

If Novak has to put up a fight, he will want to find a way around Paire’s serve. Otherwise the Frenchman looks all set to wrap the match up in style.

Prediction: Paire to win in straight sets.
