Seeded as the second best from their nations, Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut and Australian John Millman are set to square off for the sixth time in the second edition of the ATP Cup which is bound to begin on February 2nd as the official curtain-raiser to the season opening Major, the Australian Open.

The Spaniard, Agut struggled with form last year in most of the games he played.
Agut started the year with the Australian Open as the 9th seed, where he beat Feliciano Lopez and Michael Mmoh before losing to Marin Cilic in five sets. At the Cincinnati Masters, he reached the semi finals, beating Russians Karen Khachanov and Daniil Medvedev before losing to Novak Djokovic in three sets. At the US Open, Bautista Agut was shown the exit in the third round by Canadian Vasek Pospisil.
Millman ended 2020 with a singles rank of 38 and his first ATP tour title at the Astana Open.
After playing the inaugural ATP Cup last year, Millman played the Australian Open where he reached the third round against Roger Federer. In a close match that was considered one of the best of the tournament, he lost 6–4, 6–7, 4–6, 6–4, 6–7 which put him close to defeating Federer and causing an upset for a second time; this was probably the Australian’s stand-out moments of 2020.
Millman had disappointing results over the rest of the American hard court season, losing in first and second round matches in Delray Beach, Acapulco, Cincinnati, and the US Open, where he lost to Frances Tiafoe in the second round.

Whereas, Millan has proved himself by coming really close to defeating the Swiss maestro, Roger Federer twice; having defeated the 20 time Major winner once. Agut is known for his style of play grounded in consistency and precision however his lack of variety can be exploited by the Australian who has been capable of defeating the Swiss legend.
