Shapovalov, the third seed, is yet to drop a set in the competition so far. All his victories have been through some good decisive tennis played by the twenty-one year old Canadian. In the first round he had a bye owing to his seeding. In the second he got the better of Jan-Lennard Struff, 6-1 6-3.

The third round saw him defeat Hubert Hurkacz 6-4 6-3. In the Quarter Finals he beat veteran Frenchman Jérémy Chardy 7-5 6-4. His semifinal opponent is the rising tennis star from South Africa Lloyd Harris. Harris had to come through two qualifiers to reach the main draw here. In the main draw, his biggest victory was against Dominic Thiem in the second round of the tournament.

Denis Shapovalov vs Lloyd Harris: Prediction

Denis Shapovalov
Denis Shapovalov

Shapovalov is serving like a dream here at the Dubai Open, add to that his whiplash like backhand, and consistent forehand and you get a recipe for success. Harris himself has a big booming serve, and a powerful forehand, but he lacks experience and guile. But this match can go either way, as the two players are not separated by much.

Match Prediction: Denis Shapovalov will beat Lloyd Harris in three sets.
