Lloyd Harris vs Kei Nishikori: Preview
The unseeded twenty four year old South African is causing quite a stir at the Dubai Open 2021. In his last tournament he reached the round of 16 stage, and on route had claimed the scalp of Stan Wawrinka, 6-7 7-6 7-5. In the Dubai Open so far, he came through the qualifiers to reach the main draw of the tournament.
Once in the main draw, he got the better of Christopher O’Connell in the first round. In the second round, Lloyd accounted for the Top seed Dominic Thiem, a straight sets victory 6-3 6-4. In the third round he defeated Filip Krajinovic 7-6 6-4. His Quarter Final opponent is the Japanese Kei Nishikori. Nishikori, a former top four player, is of proven pedigree, and at only thirty one years of age, still has a few good years left in his tank.
At the Dubai Open so far, he beat the big serving American Reilly Opelka in the first round. In the second round he defeated the fifth seed David Goffin. Nishikori beat him in straight sets 6-3 7-6. Third round saw Nishikori get the better of Aljaž Bedene, 6-4 6-4.
Lloyd Harris vs Kei Nishikori: Head-to-Head
These two players have not met on the tour before, so the head to head stands at 0-0.
Lloyd Harris vs Kei Nishikori: Prediction
Harris is absolutely rapid across the court. His serving is good and so is his attacking the net. Nishikori has proven counter attacking skills but his service might face a bit of pressure from Harris. This match is extremely difficult to call, but I believe the youngster holds a slight advantage in this one.
Match Prediction: Lloyd Harris will beat Kei Nishikori in three sets.
