Shapovalov displaced a fantastic game in the Australian Open and the Qatar Open, where he, unfortunately, got eliminated in the quarter-finals to Rafael Nadal ( 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 3-6 ) and Arthur Rinderknech ( 4-6, 4-6 ) respectively. However, his game suddenly went down in the ATP Rotterdam Open, where he went down in the first round against Jiri Lehecka ( 4-6, 4-6 ).
