Zverev also lost his match to the four-time Grand Slam champion, prior to which, he defeated the American ace. Auger-Aliassime lifted his first title of the season against Sebastian Korda at the Adelaide International, following which, he defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic at the Open Sud de France.

The Canadian ace, however, couldn’t end the Dubai Open in his favor, losing the match to two-time Grand Slam finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas. He then snatched the European Open win from Jiri Lehecka, before he lost to Sinner in the Paris Masters final.

Zverev started his season at the Australian Open only to suffer another Grand Slam defeat. He reached the final and lost in straight sets to Sinner.

Following multiple early-round exits, Zverev played the final of the Munich Open, ending it in his favor by defeating Shelton. But he couldn’t repeat the final result when he reached the summit clash of the Stuttgart Open, losing it to Taylor Fritz.

The last time Zverev reached a final was at the Vienna Open, where he failed to overcome Sinner. The last time he won a Big Title was at the Paris Masters last year.

Auger-Aliassime has never won a Big Title, but he reached two finals of a Masters 1000 or above level event. Last year, he lost the Madrid Open title to Andrey Rublev, while this year, he lost the Paris Masters to Sinner.

Auger-Aliassime is playing the ATP Finals for the second time in his career following the 2022 season. Zverev, on the other hand, is chasing his third ATP Finals title. The 28-year-old lifted the title in 2018 and 2021 by defeating Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev, respectively. Last year, he lost in the semifinal to eventual runner-up Fritz.

Zverev will be locking horns with Auger-Aliassime for the 10th time in his career. In their nine encounters, Sascha clinched the win six times. This time, they met once, in the third round of the US Open, which Auger-Aliassime won in four sets.

Match prediction: Alexander Zverev to win in three sets.
