Carlos Alcaraz has had a dream tournament so far in Marbella. He got a wild card entry and defeated Qualifier Nikola Milojevic in the first set 7-6(3),6-3.

In the second round, he defeated Spanish veteran Feliciano Lopez, who is 22 years older than him. He got the better of the 39-year old in a hard fought three-setter 4-6,6-2,6-4. Next up in the Quarter-Final he ousted 3rd seed Casper Ruud in straight sets 6-2,6-4.

His opponent, 23-year old Jaume Munar is ranked 95th in the world. He warmed-up for this tournament by reaching the final of a Challenger event in Marbella last week and got well accustomed to the conditions and there has been no looking back since.

He defeated Qualifier Henri Laaksonen in the first set comfortably before locking horns with the 2nd seed Fabio Fognini whom in thrashed in straight sets 6-2,6-1. In the Quarter-Final, he was up against Belarusian Ilya Ivashka whom he defeated in three sets 6-7(5),6-4,6-4.
