Busta did not have a great start to the season. His first Grand Slam of the year ended with him pulling out in the third round against Grigor Dimitrov, while trailing 0-6 0-1 ,with an injury. His next tournament was the Dubai Open where he crashed out in his very first match, losing to Márton Fucsovics 7-5 3-6 2-6.
In the Andalucia Open on clay courts he has looked at home. He had not dropped a set in the competition, till his Semi-final encounter with fourth seed Albert Ramos Viñolas. The hard fought match went the full distance, eventually Busta prevailing in three sets 6-1 3-6 7-6. His opponent in the finals twenty three year old Spaniard Jaume Munar.
Munar is a clay court specialist and he has concentrated on playing on clay in the last few weeks now. His biggest win in the competition came in the round of sixteen encounter with second seed Fabio Fognini. He beat Fognini in straight sets 6-2 6-1. He defeated Carlos Alcaraz Garfia in the Semi-finals to book his place in the finals.

Busta enjoys playing from the baseline, and adding variety to his shots from there. Change of pace, quick hands at the nets are all part of his arsenal. Munar has been playing on clay continuously for a while now and has gotten really good at it.
His strengths are his movement and his consistency. But, Busta is better than him in the same areas, and will look to dominate him. Looks like a sure shot victory for Busta.
