Tsonga came back on tour after a year-long hiatus in the Montpellier Open last month. In his return match though, he lost to Sebastian Korda of the USA 4-6 2-6. In the first round of the Open 13 Provence he overcame Feliciano López 3-6 6-4 7-5, in a hard fought contest. Tsonga, once a top five player, is currently ranked at number sixty six. His second round opponent is fellow French national Ugo Humbert.
