ATP Paris Bercy: Unstoppable Alexander Zverev thrashes Rafael Nadal to reach finals

ATP Paris Masters 2020 Semifinals saw a clash between Rafael Nadal and Alexander Zverev. The match had an unexpected result, as Zverev, who has been in all sorts of trouble outside the court, won the match 6-4, 7-5.

However, irrespective of this result, Nadal and Zverev have already qualified for the ATP Finals in London.

Zverev wins in straight sets

Zverev sealed the opening set in the third set point. He won 6-4 by hitting 19 winners and merely 7 unforced errors. Zverev broke Nadal in the opening set and cruised to win 6-4,7-5 for a meeting with Daniil Medvedev in the finals.

Accompanied by some poor serve point, Nadal managed just 16 of the 25 points. It was rather easy for Alexander to win the first set as he smashed 9 aces. Despite a poor second serve, he won over 30% of the points from it.

The second set saw Rafa marching back into the match. It was on serve till 4-3 but despite various chances awarded to him, Zverev could not win any breaks. In a turn of events, at 3-4 in the second set, the Spaniard broke Zverev to make it 4-4. Nadal failed the second hold. With the lead of 5-4 at the crucial stage, Zverev sealed a win with 6-4, 7-5.

This was his 2nd successful meeting against Rafa as he cruises to the 7th ATP Masters finals. The winning streak of Zverev is now into 12. Next up in the finals Zverev faces Daniil Medvedev.
