It has been an amazing start to the 2022 season for Canadian youngster Felix Auger-Aliassime. He started the season at the ATP Cup where he won 3 good matches and won the title for Canada. He then reached the quarterfinal of the Australian Open where he came very close to beating Daniil Medvedev. This week in Rotterdam, he had to dig deep to beat Egor Gerasimov in the first round in three sets 3-6,6-2,6-2.
Andy Murray has finally started winning matches after his comeback from a career-threatening hip injury a couple of years ago. After a poor outing at Melbourne Summer Set at the start of the season, Murray made it to the final of Sydney International where he lost to Aslan Karatsev. At the Australian Open, he once again defeated Nikoloz Basilashvili in a 5-set thriller before losing to Japanese Taro Daniel in the second round. He also once again made it to the Top 100 in the ATP Rankings ahead of Rotterdam. In the first round this week, he got the better of Alexander Bublik in straight sets 7-6(6),6-4 to book a date with Felix.
