The 29-year old player from Belarus started the year with the Adelaide International I, where he got eliminated in the quarterfinals to the second seed of the tournament, Karen Kachanov, in straight sets ( 5-7, 3-6 ). In Adelaide Internation II, Gerasimov lost to Gianluca Mager in the first round. He managed to get one set but lost the following two ( 6-4, 5-7, 4-6). His performance in the Australian Open and the Maharashtra Open didn’t bear much fruit as he went down in the first round. Gerasimov is playing the first round tomorrow in the Rotterdam Open after coming up from two qualifiers round. The first one was against Daniel Masur ( 6-4, 6-4 ), followed by another German in the second round, Philipp Kohlschreiber ( 6-1, 6-1 ).

Felix Auger Aliassime has been playing exceptionally well since the beginning of this year. In the ATP Cup, though he lost to Medvedev in the semi-finals, he won against Zverev and Bautista Agut to win the tournament along with his team. Auger prevailed over multiple seeded players in the Australian Open to reach the quarterfinals but lost to the World No. 2, Daniil Medvedev, in an intense five-setter ( 7-6, 6-3, 6-7, 5-7, 4-6 ).
