Taylor Fritz vs Andrej Martin: Preview
Fritz shot to limelight in the Australian Open 2021 where he came from two sets down against Novak Djokovic to equal the match at 2-2. Unfortunately he lost the final set and the match but in that third round encounter against Djokovic he showed the world his immense talent with the racquet.
Then he reached the Semi-final of the Qatar Open. At the Dubai Open he lost to Andrey Rublev and in the Miami Open he lost to Alexander Bublik, both in the round of sixteen. The second seed here, Fritz kicks off his clay court season with a second round encounter against Andrej Martin. Martin did not have the best of starts to the season. He had a terrible outing in the Australian summer, not winning a single match across three tournaments.
Moving to more favored clay, the Slovak did well on the ATP Challenger Tour, but none too impressive at the Cordoba Open, nor in Buenos Aires or in Chile. Martin played a good opening match against Czech veteran Jiri Vesely, in the first round, winning a tight three setter, 6-4 2-6 6-1.
Taylor Fritz vs Andrej Martin: Head-to-Head
The two players have not met on the tour before, so the head to head stands at 0-0.
Taylor Fritz vs Andrej Martin: Prediction
Fritz has a fantastic serve and power on both flanks. He uses the angles well and uses top spin brilliantly. Overall he has the game to do very well on clay. Fritz shouldn’t have too much trouble overcoming Martin.
Match Prediction: Taylor Fritz will beat Andrej Martin in straight sets.
