Dimitar Kuzmanov was handed a wildcard to play in his home tournament in Sofia. The Bulgarian failed to make it past the qualifying rounds in the Parma 2 Challenger and the Marbella Challenger. Kuzmanov managed to reach back to back finals at the ITF Austria and ITF Poland, but could not win any of the finals. He participated at the ATP Cup in January where he won two matches against Steve Darcis and Alexander Kozbinov.
Salvatore Caruso has failed to make it past the first round of both the indoor hard court tournaments he has been a part of this season. He lost to Dan Evans at the European Open and to Corentin Moutet at the Paris Masters. Caruso’s best performance of the year came at the Challenger Parma where he reached the finals before losing to Frances Tiafoe.
