He had a good run at the ongoing Paris Masters where he lost in the last 32 to Andrey Rublev. However, he scored impressive victories over Hubert Hurkacz in the 1st round and Norbert Gombos in the qualifiers.

Yuichi Sugita failed to get past the qualifying rounds at the Bett1Hulks Indoors and at the European Open in Antwerp. However, he did manage to break into the main draw of the Astana Open where he reached the last 16 before finally losing to the eventual runner-up, Adrian Mannarino in straight sets. Sugita will be hoping to build on his performance at the Astana Open and have a good run in his final ATP tournament of 2020.
