Meanwhile, American Taylor Fritz has been having a disappointing 2020 season, with first-round and second-round exits in most tournaments. He made the third rounds in all three Grand Slams this year but couldn’t proceed further. His loss at the French Open was especially painful, as it came against a lower-ranked opponent, Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego. The 22-year-old’s best performance came at Acapulco, where he made the finals but was outmatched in straight sets by the in-form Rafael Nadal.
