Grigor Dimitrov had a decent clay court season where he managed to reach the quarterfinals of the Italian Open and made it to the 4th round of the French Open where he lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. The Bulgarian made a return to hard courts at the Antwerp Open last week. He reached the semifinals, playing just one match because of receiving a bye in Round 1 and a walkover in the quarterfinals.

Karen Khachanov also managed to reach just the 4th round at the French Open, where he lost to the runner-up, Novak Djokovic, in straight sets. The Russian has been quite busy as he has played at two hard court tournaments in as many weeks. He was knocked out in quarterfinals of his home tournament in Petersburg by Milos Raonic. At the European Open in Antwerp, the Russian could only manage to reach the last 8 once again where he lost to Dan Evans.
