ATP Vienna 2020: Hubert Hurkacz vs Lorenzo Sonego Preview, Head-to-Head and Prediction for Erste Bank Open

Hubert Hurkacz and Lorenzo Sonego will clash in the hard courts of Erste Bank Open. Poland’s Hurkacz is the World No.31 at the moment. On the other hand, his adversary, Sonego, is ranked 42 in the charts.

Hurkacz started this year successfully after he reached the semi-final of ASB Classic. Further, the 23-year-old advanced to the second rounds of U.S Open and Australian Open as well. Hurkacz defeated Attila Balazs 6-3, 7-5 to set up a meeting with Sonego.  

Lorenzo Sonego is continually climbing up the ranks. Firstly, the Italian reached the Rio Open quarter-final. After that, the 25-year-old advanced to the fourth round of Roland Garros this year. Further, the qualifier ousted Susan Lajovic 6-4, 6-3 in the first round in Austria. 

The duo of Hubert Hurkacz and Lorenzo Sonego have clashed against each other on 2 occasions before. As of today, their head-to-head stands at 1-1. 

Their last meeting came about earlier this year in Auckland in 2019. Hurkacz won this match 7-5, 6-3 in the round of 32. 

Hurkacz is expected to win this match solely on the basis of his recent performances and higher ranking. However, Sonego will put up an incredible fight and not just roll over.
