ATP Vienna 2020: Men’s Singles Draw Preview, Analysis and Prediction for Erste Bank Open
ATP Vienna Open, an ATP 500 tournament gets underway from the 26th October. The indoor hard court tournament will attract top players including Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem and Stefanos Tsitsipas who all return to tennis after the French Open 2020.
Novak Djokovic, the top seed at the tournament will aim to claim the 500 points on offer as he looks to secure the year-end World number 1 ranking. Dominic Thiem is seeded 2nd in the absence of Rafael Nadal and is also the defending champion playing his home tournament.

The Argentinain opens his campaign against a tough opponent, Dusan Lajovic but is expected to come through and carry on his amazing form.

Tsitsipas opens his campaign against Jan-Lennard Struff in Round 1, whereas Shapovalov faces wildcard Jurj Rodionov in Round 1.

Minaur will defeat Medvedev and will make his way to the quarterfinals where he will face US Open 2020 semifinalist, Pablo Carreno Busta.

Fourth Quarter
The 4th quarter includes the defending champion and 2nd seed, Dominic Thiem alongside the in form 5th seed Andrey Rublev. It also includes the 3 time Grandslam champion, Stan Wawrinka and wildcard, Jannik Sinner. Rublev has hardly put a foot wrong in the past 2 months, scalping the Hamburg Open and Petersburg Open trophies. He will progress into the last 8 where he will face the home favourite, Dominic Thiem. The Austrian has been given a tricky fixture in the 1st round as he faces 2014 US Open finalist, Kei Nishikori.

The 1st quarterfinal between Schwartzman and Djokovic will be a replay of the Italian Open final a few months back. The Serbian will once again emerge victorious. The 2nd quarterfinal will pit two talented youngsters against each other with Shapovalov facing Tsitsipas. The Greek will win this intriguing battle and progress into the last 4.
The third quarterfinal will feature two unseeded players against each other. Alex De Minaur will defeat Pablo Carreno Busta in this encounter to reach his 2nd consecutive semifinals in as many weeks. The fourth quarterfinal will be one of the most exciting matches of the tournament as red hot Andrey Rublev faces US Open 2020 champion, Dominic Thiem. The Austrian will just edge out Rublev in a 3 set thriller.

The first semifinal will pit Novak Djokovic against the 3rd seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in a rematch of the 5 set thriller in the French Open semifinals. Djokovic will once again win the battle and reach yet another final.
The Second semifinal will be a rematch of the US Open quarterfinals where Thiem defeated Minaur in straight sets. This time the result will be no different as the Austrian will reach the finals of his home tournament.

The finals will see the top two seeds going head to head to claim the title in Vienna. There will be lots to play for as Thiem is the defending champion and Djokovic will look to secure his year-end number one ranking.
