Popular American Youtuber, Stephen Deleonardis, also known as SteveWillDoIt set the internet on fire after accusing Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves of trying to smash his girlfriend. The claim has sparked instant chaos all over the internet.

Austin Reaves has been a revelation for the Lakers this season. Along with star player, Luka Doncic, the two have formed one of the most lethal offensive duos in the league as the Lakers are currently at fourth in the Western Conference standings with a record of 11-4 after 15 games in the season. What makes this record even more impressive is that LeBron James just made his return after being ruled out for the first 14 games this season.

The recent accusation by the YouTuber has turned into one of 2025’s wildest online dramas. Known for wild stunts and blunt rants, he claimed in a viral clip that Reaves was his favorite player.

Austin Reaves was my fav player in the NBA, what does he do? Try to f**k my chick at the time!! Athletes and rappers are menaces on society, if you have a gf and she’s on social media, you have to compete against athletes and rappers.

Fans went into full chaos mode on the internet

While some fans defended Reaves’ clean image, some others joked, trolled and crowned him “Demon Reaves”. The rant went viral because of how emotional and unfiltered he sounded.

NBA players getting into streaming

Several NBA players have started streaming or have expressed interest in it. Milwaukee Bucks forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo, has expressed a desire to start streaming in a TikTok live. Antetokounmpo, often engages with fans’ questions and viewed his social media interactions as a form of streaming.

Former NBA forward and 2017 All-star, Gordon Hayward, is a well-known gamer and has an active presence on Twitch, where he has streamed in the past. Kyrie Irving, now a part-time streamer while rehabbing his ACL, has been quite active lately.

NBA players didn’t have a platform to share their own stories. Post-game interviews and stories by journalists covering the NBA were the primary methods of hearing players’ thoughts off the court. But as the shift to the digital media has taken over, player streams and podcasts have become increasingly popular in the last several years, largely due to athletes’ desires to reclaim their narratives.
