Austin Reaves roasts Michael Jordan fans as 40-year-old LeBron James breaks records

LeBron James is undoubtedly one of the best basketball players post the legendary Michael Jordan era in the NBA. Notably, some may argue that James edges Jordan due to his longevity and iconic career. At least, James’ Lakers teammate, Austin Reaves thinks that way. On Thursday, the Lakers beat the Portland Trail Blazers by 110-102 with both, James(40 points) and Reaves(32 points) playing important roles for the win.

James was particularly outstanding, breaking the 40-point mark for the third time since his 40th birthday.
In NBA history, James’ achievements at his age are unmatched. Reaves vehemently defended James’ current actions, claiming that anyone who questions his accomplishments is merely a Jordan fan or admirer.

He really doesn’t have anything else to prove. And if people say he does, then they’re Jordan fans.

After the game, Austin Reaves said

However, despite Reaves’ comments about James, it is not valid to classify every James hater as a Jordan fan. There is a real problem when supporters of one player constantly disparage another in an attempt to undermine them. But every sane fan should be aware that Jordan and James have both left behind amazing legacies that may never be equaled.

James scored 40 points, pulled down eight rebounds, and dished out four assists in the victory. Hence, Reaves had reason to give him high marks. James did everything he could to help the Lakers win Friday night.

Notably, this win was without Luka Doncic, even though his haters also pointed out his 11 turnovers. In addition to James’ outstanding performance, Reaves had a fantastic game, scoring 32 points (9-21 FG) and dishing out seven assists.

Lakers HC left stunned by LeBron James’ masterclass against Trail Blazers

The Lakers’ recent game was completely headlined by LeBron James‘ 40-point performance. It was more special because he is in his 40s now. The influence of James extended beyond his numbers. His teammates were motivated by his leadership, court vision, and unwavering enthusiasm and worked hard to win. That said, Lakers HC, JJ Redick was unable to conceal his admiration for his star player during the news conference held after the game.

He just defies everything that’s normal. It’s not just the physical feats or the plays—it’s the mentality. He’s a billionaire playing on the second night of a back-to-back at 40, after 22 years in the league, with every record and accolade to his name. And yet, the kids will say I’m glazing him. He’s one of the greatest competitors.

JJ Redick said

James’ supremacy toward the Trail Blazers is simply one more phase of his illustrious and long-lasting career. He has been at the top of the NBA for more than 20 years. Thanks to his unmatched work ethic, dedication to training, and love for the game. With the Lakers now 33-21 in the West, James and Co. will be hoping to achieve something special this NBA season.
