Australia vs India 2nd T20I: Preview, Probable XI, Head-to-Head and Fantasy 11

After suffering from a series defeat in the One Day Internationals (ODIs), Virat Kohli’s men bounced back in the inaugural 20-over game to gain 1-0 lead. India will now face Australia for the second T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground, after beating them by 11 runs in the first match. The two sides will lock horns on December 6, 2020 (Sunday) from 1:40 PM (IST) onwards. 

Team Preview

Australia

The Australian team played well during the first innings of the previous T20I, restricting the visiting side to 161. But their batsmen disappointed as the Indian bowlers clinched a victory by 11 runs. Their top three batsmen during the ODI series: Aaron Finch, Steve Smith and Glen Maxwell failed to continue with their terrific form.

Ahead of the second T20I, Australia added Test specialist Nathan Lyon to their side in place of Cameron Green. He might replace Mitchell Swepson in the playing XI; Daniel Sams might too get a game for Sean Abbott. 

India

The Indian team witnessed a perfect start to their campaign in the T20I series. Virat Kohli and co continued with their winning run from the last ODI at the same ground of Manuka Oval. Moreover, left-arm pacer T Natarajan made a dream debut for the national side in the shortest format, claiming three scalps. 

However, team India suffered a massive blow after its batting hero in the last match, Ravindra Jadeja got ruled out from the remaining two games. Shardul Thakur has been named in the side as his replacement. Jadeja’s concussion substitute in the previous encounter, Yuzvendra Chahal would now start in the playing XI.
