Australian Open 2021: “I’m going to play extremely aggressive tennis” – Taylor Fritz believes he ‘can take control’ over Novak Djokovic

23-year-old American Taylor Fritz faces one of the most important and difficult matches of his career as he is set to face World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the third round of the Australian Open. Due to how dominant the Serb has been in Australia during the course of his illustrious career, he will be overwhelming favourite and if Fritz manages to pull off an upset, it would be the match of the tournament.
Further, it would take Fritz to the fourth round of a Grand Slam event – something he has never done with his best finish being in the third round in 3 Grand Slams. Despite all the odds being stacked against him, the American was an upbeat figure ahead of his match.
‘I’m just going to have to play my best tennis’ – Taylor Fritz

Taylor Fritz spoke about his upcoming match with Djokovic and said, “It’s Novak and it’s Novak here at the Australian Open. But for me, I’m just going to have to play my best tennis. Luckily for me and my game, I possess the ability if I’m on, I can serve well enough to where I won’t get broken and I can be extremely aggressive on the groundstrokes and I can take control if I’m on.”
He further said, “I’ve got nothing to lose, and I’m going to go out and I’m going to have a lot of fun and I’m going to play extremely aggressive tennis and see what I can do.”
If Fritz does manage to pull off a win, it will be the upset of the tournament.
