Talking about the performance in the tournament so far, Djokovic, after destroying Jeremy Chardy in straight sets in the opening round, found the going tough against Tiafoe. The 33-year old Serb lost his first set of the tournament and was close to losing another as he edged past Tiafoe 6-3, 6-7, 7-6, 6-3 in a tense encounter.
On the other hand, Fritz has lost at least one set in each of his two matches so far. The 23-year old American first defeated Albert Ramos Vinolas 7-6, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 and then outclassed Reilly Opelka 4-6, 7-6, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 in a marathon encounter. Fritz has not looked clinical at all to say the least.
