Sorana Cîrstea is unseeded in this year’s Australian Open, but she has in the past been ranked as high as no.21. In her first round she came up against country woman Patricia Maria Țig. She won the encounter quite easily with a scoreline 6-2 6-1. Petra Kvitová though is a different kettle of fish, especially on hard courts.
