Stefanos Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas is now regarded as a hot favorite to challenge the likes of the Big 3. The Greek is coming to the Australian Open 2021 to win his maiden slam.

Tsitsipas cruised through his first-round match against Gilles Simon, beating the Frenchman in straight sets 6-1, 6-2, 6-1. Tsitsipas was on top of his game from start to finish and he did not give up anything easily to the French veteran.

His opponent, Aussie wildcard Thanasi Kokkinakis is currently ranked 267th in the world but has been as high as 69th, six years ago.

Surprisingly, Kokkinakis absolutely destroyed Soon-woo Kwon in the first round, beating the South Korean in straight sets 6-4/6-1/6-1. The crowd was loving his game and he will definitely want to recreate that feeling.

Stefanos Tsitsipas

The Greek will be a huge favorite to win this encounter but he will be wary of the Aussie. The underdog played great in his first match, but he has nowhere near the level required to compete with a top 10 player.

Tsitsipas will be very confident coming into this match. He will want to get the job done quickly in straight sets and book his spot in the third round of the tournament.

Prediction: Tsitsipas to win in straight sets
