The Belgrade native won the second round in four sets against Jaime Faria but registered his third and fourth-round wins in straight sets against Tomas Machac and Jiri Lehecka respectively to set up a quarterfinal clash with Carlos Alcaraz.

The youngster from Spain with four Majors was the favorite to win, but Djokovic came from a set down to disappoint the 21-year-old, denying him a chance to accomplish the Career Grand Slam.

Alexander Zverev skipped ATP tournaments before the Australian Open and started his campaign at Melbourne Park with a straight-set win over Lucas Pouille before breezing past Pedro Martinez in straight sets.

After beating Jacob Fearnley and getting the better of 14th seed Ugo Humbert, Zverev had to deal with Tommy Paul. After outclassing the American in four sets, Zverev scheduled probably the toughest match of his 2025 season.
