Safe to say Brendan Schaub is not the biggest football/soccer fan out there. The former UFC fighter has recently gone viral for his breakdown of the FIFA World Cup on his popular podcast.
After his retirement from fighting Brendan Schaub dived into the world of standup comedy. Apart from spending time on the stage, Schaub co-hosts a popular podcast called “The Fighter and the Kid” with his comedian friend, Bryan Callen. In one of their recent podcast episodes, the two Americans talk about the FIFA World Cup that was held in Qatar.
Bryan and Brendan while talking about Lionel Messi and Argentina’s win over Kylian Mbappe’s France, make a mess out of the players’ names. While Callen calls the top scorer of the tournament, “Mgappe”, Schaub goes on to correct him and bring up that Mbappe, Messi, and “Neydermeyer” play together in the PREMIER LEAGUE. Schaub mispronounced the Brazilian superstar Neymar as “Neydermeyer” and doubles down on the botching by claiming that the stars of Paris Saint-Germain play in the English league.
Brendan Schaub has often been the victim of trolls in the MMA community for his takes on MMA. The former fighter was part of the UFC from 2009-2014. He had a mixed martial arts record of 10-5. Schaub has now gone viral on Football Twitter as fans show their disappointment.

Fans take turns roasting Brendan Schaub for his football “knowledge”
Football fans were lost for words as Schaub went on to butcher one of the biggest stars’ names. Both Bryan and Brendan then went on to joke about knowing a football broadcaster from the UK. Check out some of the reactions on Twitter to Brendan Schaub’s mess-up.
