Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic

Fan favorite and reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic recently went viral for a humorous interaction with a reporter. During a press conference, he was asked about his last bad game.

Jokic thought for a moment and then provided a hilariously incorrect answer. He cited a game against the Clippers on October 26, where he actually had 41 points, 9 assists, and 4 rebounds.

His response was not surprising, as Nikola Jokic is well known for his lighthearted response, and this time, he showcased his humble and down-to-earth personality. Despite being a three-time MVP and widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, Jokic has remained grounded and treats the NBA differently from the other players in the league.

Oh, no…

Nikola Jokic added when the reporter corrected him

This season, Jokic is performing at an elite level, while currently averaging 28.9 points, 13.2 rebounds, and 11.3 assists per game on 55.6% shooting. However, the Nuggets have struggled to keep pace in the hotly contested Western Conference.

Sadly, the team’s decline can be attributed to the departure of key players Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Bruce Brown, which placed added pressure on Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray. To capitalize on Jokic’s prime years, the Nuggets must upgrade their roster, to also give him proper rest, to compete with the best.

Nikola Jokic makes NBA history in Nuggets’ 4th straight win

Last time out, the Denver Nuggets extended their winning streak to four games with a 135-122 victory over the Miami Heat. Jamal Murray made a successful return from injury, as he contributed 28 points, six assists, and four rebounds in 35 minutes.

Murray’s return sent Russell Westbrook back to the bench, but the veteran still impressed with 10 assists in 24 minutes. But it was Jokic who stole the show, as the Nuggets ran home with 30 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds for his 135th career triple-double.

Jokic’s incredible performance once again solidified his standing as an MVP candidate this season, should the Nuggets continue their winning ways. This also marked his third 30-point triple-double on at least 80% shooting, with only Wilt Chamberlain boasting more.
