Azzi Fudd left stunned by Stephen Curry crowning ‘pretty’ jump shot
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry has taken UConn star Azzi Fudd under his SC30 brand to guide her throughout her career.

Stephen Curry has seen a lot of good players come through both the NBA as well as in women’s basketball. A few of them have impressed him enough that he wanted to created life-long connections with them.
For instance, he signed South Carolina women’s basketball star MiLaysia Fulwiley to be the first female college athlete to join his Curry Brand of exclusive sportswear. He repped her ahead of South Carolina’s NCAA national championship defense.
He also signed Azzi Fudd to his SC30 program even before she debuted with the UConn Huskies. Curry recognized her talent when she was in high school and brought her on to his brand development program to help her grow.
Now Fudd has become an NCAA national champion and was the Most Outstanding Player of this year’s March Madness. That is quite a feat considering she was battling her teammate and best player in college basketball Paige Bueckers.
She was surprised when she was named March Madness’ MOP. But what surprised her more was when Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan revealed that Stephen Curry was ‘jealous’ of her ‘pretty’ jump shot. To this a beaming Fudd replied.
That just feels wrong to say. It is like the prettiest good jump shot, but Steph’s is… top tier.

Strahan, a Super Bowl champion and NFL Hall of Famer, who then told the UConn star that her shot was indeed pretty. He then suggested her to challenge the Golden State Warriors superstar to a matchup and quoted a line from her viral t-shirt, ‘Fudd around and find out’.

When Michael Strahan referred to this viral slogan, his colleague asked Azzi Fudd about the backstory behind the viral t-shirt that her mother, Katie Fudd, wore during the NCAA national championship game. The UConn senior replied.
It was a family in Connecticut who came up with that and made these T-shirts. I think it’s incredible. They made posters at first. Every time I see it, posters, t-shirts, it makes me smile.

That t-shirt became a sensation and have since been selling out in and around Connecticut. Since Azzi Fudd is going to return for another year, those t-shirts might start filling out the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion next season.
Azzi Fudd gave up a top five draft spot to return to UConn
Azzi Fudd was eligible to declare for the WNBA Draft. Early mock drafts projected that she could go to the expansion team, Golden State Valkyries at No. 5. That would have been an optimum situation considering her mentor Stephen Curry plays in the same building.
Moreover, she could have been the budding star the team built their future upon. Instead, she chose to ignore all those possibilities and return to UConn. With Paige Bueckers leaving for the WNBA, the Huskies would need Fudd’s scoring, defense and leadership.
If she manages to continue this season’s form, the DC native could end up vying for one of the top spots in next season’s WNBA Draft. There will be two new expansion teams in that draft, which means chances to land in a favorable situation are high.
