Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal has been one of the very particular players when it comes to pre-match routines, his equipment and the superstitious rituals he does before and during the matches. Often called the most superstitious man in the world of tennis, Nadal needs everything in the same manner and does not compromise over it.

Babolat, one of the leading brands in racquet-sports equipment, recently launched ‘Aero Pro Rafa‘, a new range of tennis racquets personally chose by Rafael Nadal on whose name the new collection has been launched.

Antoine Ballon, the Marketing Director of Babolat, came forward and talked about the development of Aero Pro Rafa, which has become a very important event in the manufacturing of tennis equipment.

“ It happened very quickly in fact. We presented the project of this racket to Rafa’s agent and he immediately hooked. We had talked about this before and it was something we wanted to do for a long time. You just had to find the right timing. With Rafa’s 20 Grand Slam titles, we had a real opportunity,” said Ballon.

Rafael Nadal still had to be in tune with the product, says Babolat MD

Ballon further said, “Rafa has his own universe, symbolized by the spin and the power to dominate the exchange in the game but above all by a determination and a personality on off the court. common. This was what we wanted to symbolize through its own colors.”

Nadal being choosy and particular take a long time in finalizing things.

“We proposed colour options embodying what we seemed to best represent Rafa’s personality and game. He therefore selected “his” colours and then made us work on several versions. It was Rafa who himself chose his favorite racquet after reworking samples that lasted nearly four months,” he said.

The collection will be available at authorized Babolat retailers all over the world.
