A few weeks ago, MGK took the internet by storm after he made major statements about Randy Orton. It sparked a controversy after The Viper himself responded to the comments through social media. This hassle was a major talking point within the wrestling world. Now, a report has emerged that sheds light on the take of WWE over this alleged beef.
According to Fightful Select, WWE has had little to no discussion about this beef. It states that there is no footage of the alleged altercation between Randy Orton and the rapper. In fact, no one had any idea about this interaction before Machine Gun Kelly talked about it on the Impaulsive podcast.
For those who don’t know, the Cleveland-based rapper claimed that he lashed out at the Apex Predator for the latter’s past criticism against him. The Viper was quick to respond, as he completely denied any of such claims. Later on, Kevin Owens also jumped into the fiery controversy with a reaction of his own, showing support for his friend, Orton.
The report also added that WWE believes that MGK is exaggerating the story for publicity. Although there has been no update on the controversy for the last few weeks, there is a huge possibility of it being a work. Only time will tell whether this alleged beef will lead to something substantial from here on.
Possible plan for the beef between MGK and Randy Orton if it is staged
There has been a lot of speculation about the confrontation between MGK and Randy Orton being a work. Therefore, there is a possibility that WWE themselves might have asked the rapper to make such comments. It might have been done to set up a match in the foreseeable future.
Orton is likely to return to SmackDown this week. He is expected to return as the mystery tag team partner of Kevin Owens. It is possible that WWE is planning a match for the Crown Jewel PLE with R-KO taking on MGK and Logan Paul.
WWE has a history of hosting celebrity matches on major shows. Hence, it would come as little surprise to fans if MGK does compete inside the squared circle. In addition to that, The Maverick already has issues with Orton and Owens. As such, a tag team match might be the right decision to capitalize on the hype on this ongoing beef.
