The Royal Rumble marks the beginning of the road to WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest show of the calendar year. The PLE sets the tone for what fans can expect throughout the year, and the crowd plays a huge role. With the show being six months away, fans finally have an idea where Royal Rumble 2025 could be held.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is currently on the verge of signing a multi-event agreement with the Indiana Sports Corporation. This partnership would commence at the Royal Rumble 2025, which would then be held in Lucas Oil Stadium on February 1st, 2025.
This would be the first time WWE will host the Royal Rumble as late as February. December and early January are already a bust period for the company. This is due to the holidays and no PLEs scheduled for the last month of the year any more. The only PLEs scheduled so far prior to the Rumble are Survivor Series in November and potentially Bad Blood a month before that.
WWE’s international shows have gained widespread recognition over the past year. The crowds at these shows have been highly appreciated, and many fans were clamoring for the promotion to bring their Big Four shows overseas. However, this deal coming into play will be a step further from that idea.
Will WWE’s deal with Indiana Sports Corporation affect any shows other than Royal Rumble 2025?
The federation’s potential agreement with the Indiana Sports Corporation appears to be bigger than its existing deal with Saudi Arabia. It is likely to include a future WrestleMania or SummerSlam, also set to take place in the Lucas Oil Stadium. While there have also been rumblings about WrestleMania in Saudi Arabia, no plans are set in stone as of yet.
The company visited Indiana last year and held the Fastlane PLE in Indianapolis. The show featured an appearance from Pat McAfee, who vouched for WrestleMania taking place in the state.
The Stamford-based promotion has already announced the location for WrestleMania 41 as Las Vegas. Furthermore, WWE has also confirmed bringing SummerSlam to Minnesota in 2026 for a two-night show. It would be interesting to see where this deal fits amidst these pre-announced shows.
