Bad Bunny ended his Super Bowl LX halftime show with a powerful message of unity and inclusivity. The “TURiSTA” composer put together a well-choreographed spectacle.

Despite the negative publicity Bad Bunny’s selection as the Super Bowl halftime performer generated, the brass at the NFL HQ knew that they had picked the right man for the job. Commissioner Roger Goodell‘s statement during the interviews leading up to the big night on February 8 hinted as much.

Goodell’s assurance did little to satisfy the MAGA-affiliated right-wing groups’ desire for a halftime show that reflected traditional values. Turning Point USA, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, put together an alternative show to rival Bad Bunny’s presentation.

Bunny rolled in with a star-studded entourage. Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Lady Gaga, Ricky Martin, and Karol G, all there to back him up for the biggest moment of his music career.

But the moment that went viral was not Lady Gaga’s sensual on-stage chemistry with Bad Bunny or Cardi B’s energetic presence, but a short yet powerful message written on a football. At the end of his performance, Bad Bunny held a football up to the camera with the message “Together We Are America,” as flags from various American contingents sparkled in all directions.

Bad Bunny displayed a secret hidden message

Not everyone was thrilled to hear that Bad Bunny would be the headlining halftime performer at Super Bowl LX. There was still some lingering discontent over Kendrick Lamar‘s showcase last year, but it ultimately proved to be a massive success.

President Donald Trump bluntly declared that he did not know who Bad Bunny was. That said, the Grammy winner received support from his peers, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Shakira, and Jennifer Lopez.

The show concluded with a massive roar inside the venue. However, people watching the game from the comfort of their homes might have missed an important message displayed on the giant screen or jumbotron: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”

This was officially Bad Bunny’s first show (when he’s the main act) on the US mainland. He once shared the stage with Shakira at her 2020 Super Bowl show, a performance Rolling Stone hailed as one of the best halftime shows of all time.

The reason it took so long is that he did not want ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) officers to hassle his audience, which is largely made up of people of Latin American origin.

That said, it’s hard to pass up the chance to perform on one of the grandest stages in the world. It’s also the perfect platform to share the message of harmony and peace.
