There is no stopping Luka Doncic at the moment. The Slovenian guard led the Los Angeles Lakers to another victory on Thursday night. The Lakers registered an impressive 134-126 win over the Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center. After a slow start in the first quarter that saw them down by as many as 13 points, Doncic stole the show with his best performance of the 2025-26 campaign.
Following the loss, Bam Adebayo had some interesting words to offer in the aftermath of Luka Doncic’s 60-point game in his post-match press conference.
He hit some tough shots out there. It is what it is. I know what it’s like to be in that mode. As people can see, it’s not easy to get 80.

Drafted as the number three pick in the 2018 NBA draft, Luka Doncic has established himself as one of the best players in the league. On Thursday, he put in arguably his best offensive performance since joining the Purple and Gold. Less than two weeks ago, Bam Adebayo put in a record-breaking performance where he scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards in the same stadium.
The Lakers are enjoying their best form of the season after an inconsistent start to the year. They extended their winning streak to eight games and have registered wins against some strong opponents.
The win improved their record to 45-25 as they find themselves in third place in the highly competitive Western Conference standings. They are now two games ahead of the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are in fourth place. Meanwhile, the Heat have lost three games in a row and have dropped to eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Might be the lamest quote I have ever seen in NBA history
Many fans felt Adebayo’s comments were meant for Bryant’s fans who have been trying to downplay the 83-point game. However, it does not matter as the Heat center has cemented his name into the history books.
Luka Doncic scored 100 points in 24 hours
A few weeks ago, Doncic was at the center of criticism from the NBA community for his constant nagging of officials, and many believed that he was out of the MVP race as well. However, after his recent performances, it may be time to bring him back into the debate with just 12 games to go in the regular season.

After a dominant 40-point game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, Doncic dropped his first 60-point game as a Laker against the Heat on the second night of a back-to-back. In the span of 24 hours, the former Dallas Mavericks star has scored 100 points. He also became the first Laker to record 60 points in a game since Kobe Bryant in 2016.
After the game, Doncic spoke to the media and addressed his emotions after such an impressive feat in just one day.
You see everybody celebrating on the bench, it’s like, it shows that we care a lot about each other. And that’s what great teams do. Just makes my heart happy seeing them celebrate my 60-point game.

It is no surprise that the Lakers’ sudden rich turn in form coincides with Doncic’s staggering performances. Over the last eight games, Doncic has been averaging 40.9 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 7.4 assists.
