Bam Adebayo has finally been paired with a superstar teammate in Giannis Antetokounmpo. After a whole season of rumors, the Milwaukee Bucks have finally traded Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat.

It is a blockbuster trade that is sure to shake the Eastern Conference. The Heat traded for Antetokounmpo in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel’el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis and three first-round picks.

New teammates Adebayo and Antetokounmpo were spotted together supporting Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson on Tuesday night. The Aces were taking on the New York Liberty at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.

The trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a long time coming. With the Bucks struggling to build a championship-contending squad around him and their relationship deteriorating towards the end of the regular season, his exit was imminent despite his loyalty to the franchise.

Multiple clubs were in talks with the Bucks to acquire Antetokounmpo. The rumors and noise surrounding his exit have affected the club for the entire 2025-26 campaign.

While there were reports that he put in a trade request in the offseason last year, no move materialized. To add to their woes, the Bucks had a poor season. They missed the playoffs and finished outside the Play-In positions, ending 11th in the Eastern Conference with a 32-50 record.

Meanwhile, the Heat had a below-par season as well. While they made it to the Play-In Tournament, they were beaten by the Charlotte Hornets in their first game and failed to make it to the playoffs. Hence, it will be interesting to see how the Heat build their roster with Antetokounmpo leading the way.

For Liberty, Breanna Stewart led the scorers with 20 points, six rebounds, and three blocks. She had strong support from Sabrina Ionescu, who scored 16 points. It was a solid all-round performance from Liberty, who led from the first quarter and never looked back.

The loss saw the Aces stay at second place in the Western Conference standings with a 12-5 record. It was their third loss in seven games at home. Meanwhile, the Liberty remained at second place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 12-6 record.

Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo might be the best duo in the Eastern Conference

There is no doubt that Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the league today. While he struggled with injuries last season, he did post impressive numbers. He will team up with Bam Adebayo in the front court. The Heat center shocked the NBA world last season when he scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards.

NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that the Heat management will build their team around their two big men.

I talked to someone very close to the situation in Miami today. What I was told is ‘shooting, shooting, shooting.’ That is the upmost priority list for the Miami Heat….. the Heat know they have to build around Bam Adebayo and Giannis Antetokounmpo. When you think about Duos, there might not be a better duo in the Eastern Conference.

Shams Charania on SportsCenter

It will be interesting to see how Antetokounmpo and Adebayo coexist with each other next season. It is very important for the front office to surround them with shooters, considering their new duo is a dominant force in the paint. A busy offseason awaits the Heat.
