One of the NBA’s funniest players is Bam Adebayo, who plays for the Miami Heat. Even when it involves his girlfriend, Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson, he can joke with the best of them. But this time, it was the other way around. The WNBA star was spotted wearing the Miami Heat sweatpants during her practice session.

The images of Wilson training in Heat’s sweats quickly went viral, with the NBA and WNBA community linking her boyfriend, Adebayo, with the pants she wore. For years, the couple kept their relationship private, but haven’t made it public yet. Both Wilson and Adebayo were spotted several times attending various events and NBA games together, all but confirming their status.

This recent act by Wilson just adds a touch of humor for the NBA and WNBA fan bases to chime in on, and that’s exactly what they did. Aside from this, Wilson said, “I mean….” in response to PEOPLE’s question about whether she and her “NBA All-Star” were formally referring to one other as Valentines. Wilson’s alma mater, the University of South Carolina, honored her with a jersey retirement that same month.

The Las Vegas Aces player subtly acknowledged Adebayo, who was seated courtside, during her remarks. Although Wilson and Adebayo have not discussed the start of their romance, Wilson informed PEOPLE that they had been friends “for years.” In addition, Wilson’s signature Nike sneaker was worn by Adebayo on the court during a Miami Heat vs. Brooklyn Nets game in January 2025.

NBA fans hilariously reacted to A’ja Wilson wearing Miami Heat sweatpants

Fans are free to conjecture because they (A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo) haven’t formally acknowledged the relationship, but they haven’t denied it either. But the Aces’ star turning up on the court in the Heat pants is the most recent indication that the two are closer. This led to all sorts of takes from the basketball world on the rumoured couple.

The majority of the NBA fanbase did not hold back against Wilson and Adebayo as they put forward their thoughts and jokes on Wilson’s recent stunt. One of the fans wrote on X, “Bam probably been looking for these pants for weeks.” Check out some of the fan reactions below:

It’s important to note that Adebayo and Wilson have been maintaining their relationship under wraps despite their frequent teasing. In an interview with The 3 Point Conversion in May 2024, Wilson talked candidly about adjusting to life in the spotlight. She stated that she stays off social media due to the toxicity that comes with it.

A’ja Wilson makes the WNBA All-Star team as a starter

The 2025 AT&T All-Star Game in Indianapolis will include reigning MVP A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces as a starter, the WNBA announced Monday. Wilson was selected as an All-Star starter for the 6th occasion in her career. She will be participating in the All-Star Game for the seventh time. She is one of the most consistent players in the league, and her recent honor is a clear example of that.

This season, the three-time WNBA MVP Wilson leads the league in blocks, ranks second in scoring, ranks second in rebounding, and ranks third in steals. She surpassed Breanna Stewart (242) to become the fastest player in league history to reach 5,000 career points on June 26 after scoring in 238 games. Wilson became the second-youngest at 28 years and 321 days, following Lauren Jackson, who achieved the same feat in 28 years and 96 days.

Regardless of conference affiliation, the ten starters were chosen from throughout the WNBA. A media panel and current WNBA players participated in the selection process alongside fans. Half of the vote went to fans, and the remaining 25% went to a panel of media representatives and current WNBA players.
