UFC 280 certainly has the best fight card of the year 2022. Consequently, the event was attended by a lot of celebrities. However, a new attendee of the event has created a lot of buzz among the netizens. He is none other than Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh.
Singh was previously seen attending a pre-season basketball game at the same arena. Soon after, a picture of him posing with Sean O’Malley went viral on the internet. Malley is going to take on Petr Yan in the biggest fight of his career at UFC280 and Ranveer would be there to enjoy it from the ringside.
Commenting on the vibe of the arena ahead of the main card, Ranveer Singh said: “This is electric out here Etihad Arena. This card is one of the ages. We are going to see the most elite fighters in the world going toe to toe at the highest level. This is my first fight of my entire life. I cannot express how excited I am. I am sitting here ringside you can actually hear the blows.”
MMA is still a boosting industry in India and with superstars like Ranveer Singh following the sport, it would certainly attract his followers to do the same. However, many fans didn’t like how UFC posted a video of the Bollywood star on their official page.

MMA fans brutally troll Ranveer Singh for his “cringe” speech at UFC 280
While Ranveer Singh was having the time of his life at the Etihad Arena, many fight fans cringed at the way he expressed his feelings about the same. Netizens brutally trolled the Bollywood star for his accent.
One user wrote: “On behalf of the Indian MMA fans I apologize”
Another user said that UFC is desperate for the Indian market and hence they are posting such stuff on their official page. A fan called the actor a clown for the way he expresses himself at every event. He wrote: “So this clown arrived here after embarrassing India at NBA games.”
Another user stated that the actor is attending live sports just to get attention from the international audience. Users found the way Ranveer spoke to the camera “cringe“. One of the fans even asked UFC to ban him from the promotion.
“He should be banned from UFC…He is making it cringey” wrote a fan.
Nevertheless, there were some fight fans who didn’t like the way people criticized the actor and stated that there is nothing wrong if Ranveer loves the sport and wants to promote it in India. Another user was flabbergasted by seeing Ranveer Singh, Andrew Tate, and Hasbulla all in one place.
