Barbora Krejcikova is now a two-time Grand Slam champion. On Saturday (July 13), Krejcikova, seeded 31st, won her maiden Wimbledon title on the famous Centre Court by beating Italy’s seventh seed Jasmine Paolini in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
Krejcikova became one of seven different women to win the title at SW19 since seven-time Wimbledon champion Serena Williams last lifted the trophy in 2016. Krejcikova eliminated 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina in three sets in the semifinal to set up the final clash with Paolini, who knocked out Croatia’s Donna Vekic in the longest Wimbledon Women’s semifinal.

Along with the Wimbledon title, Krejcikova added $3.45 million to her net worth! Prior to her win at Wimbledon, Krejcikova’s net worth was between $8-10 million. Runner-up Paolini, on the other hand, received £1.4 million ($1.7 million).
The total Wimbledon prize money, which has been increased to £50 million, meant that the winners of both Men’s and Women’s finals received $3.45, which is more than what Carlos Alcaraz and Marketa Vondrousova won last year. The prize money last year was £44.7 and Alcaraz and Vondrousova took home £2.35 million ($2.97 million).
Barbora Krejcikova returns to Top 10
On Monday (July 15), Barbora Krejcikova will officially return to the Top 10. After turning pro in 2014, Krejcikova reached her best in the WTA Rankings when she became World No.2 in February 2022 as the 2021 French Open win helped her rankings a great deal.

Krejcikova, before Wimbledon, stood at 32nd place on the rankings table. But on Monday, she will be World No.10 with 3573 points.
Jasmine Paolini, who stood in 7th position before Wimbledon, will be World No.5 for the first time in her career. Before Wimbledon, the 28-year-old Italian reached the French Open final (her first major final) but was no match for World No.1 Iga Swiatek.
The Pole, with 11285, will continue to stand atop the WTA Rankings, having lifted five titles already this year, including a WTA 1000 Masters event. There will also be no changes to the second, third, and fourth positions occupied by Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina. All these four players, though they won eight of the last nine Grand Slam titles, lifted just one Wimbledon (by Rybakina in 2022 by beating Ons Jabeur in three sets).
