Barbora Krejcikova and Jasmine Paolini have both entered uncharted territories, as they are the surprise contestants for the Wimbledon Championships this year. En route to the final, they both took out some players thought to be the best picks for the title.

Krejcikova, who took out World No. 4 and 2022 champion, Elena Rybakina, in the semifinal spoke about how she expects a difficult battle in the final. 

I expect a tough match. It will be a big match for both of us, a big fight. I haven't seen her play too much during the tournament, just a little bit today (Thursday) before my match because I had to follow the score.

Paolini is ranked No. 7 in the world at the moment and has risen through the rankings tremendously fast with her results on the biggest stages. This will be her second consecutive Grand Slam final, having made the French Open final just last month.

Competing with the in-form Italian will be no easy task and Krejcikova is aware of it. The match may be tricky for the Czech as she claims to have not watched Paolini play a lot this tournament as their match timings usually clashed. Her experience may provide her with the necessary tools to come through as she emerged victorious in her only match against Paolini, winning 6-2, 6-1 at the 2018 Australian Open.

Barbora Krejcikova may have stirred up controversy during a Q&A session on X

The Czech pro had a question and answer session with her fans prior to her title win at the 2021 French Open. She decided to give in to superstitions and host another one this year right before her upcoming Wimbledon final match against Jasmine Paolini.

One X user asked to pick a favorite between the members of the big three, and Krejcikova seemingly ignored Novak Djokovic in her response.
