Barcelona are keen to sign a left-back in the 2025 summer transfer window, and Caio Henrique has emerged as a potential candidate.

FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in securing a loan deal with an option to buy for 27-year-old Caio Henrique from AS Monaco. According to Andres Onrubia Ramos, the Blaugrana are keen to sign a left-back in the 2025 summer transfer window, and Henrique has emerged as a potential candidate to strengthen that position.
Henrique’s time at AS Monaco has been mixed since joining the club from Atletico Madrid. While he spent his early years in Brazil, it wasn’t until the 2020/21 season that he truly began to make an impact. His tenure with Atletico Madrid was largely unproductive, and over the last 12 months, his performances for Monaco have delivered inconsistent results.
Henrique has not been a constant presence in Monaco’s first team. He has played 150 times for the club so far, scoring three goals and providing 34 assists.
Henrique has played one match for the Brazil national team so far. This, however, hasn’t reduced his interest, and Barca is one of the teams that will make a move for the player in the 2025 summer transfer window.
Alejandro Balde, the 21-year-old, has been the starter for Barca in that position. However, Hansi Flick does not have a player who could challenge Balde for that spot.
If he is injured or his form goes down, Barca do not have a viable alternative in that position. Hence, Flick has turned his attention to Henrique. The club feels that he will try to improve his performance in La Liga after a forgettable stint for Atletico. However, the club will offer Monaco a loan option first before making a permanent move.

Ansu Fati burst onto the scene at Barca with his incredible talent and was the one to look out for in the next generation of players from La Masia. However, repeated injuries have derailed his career progress, and since then, his form has gone downhill only. He returned to Barca in the summer after a bad loan stint at Brighton & Hove Albion.
However, Fati hasn’t impressed Flick with the limited opportunities that he has got this season. Moreover, he suffered yet another injury that sidelined him for a few weeks. Fati has now recovered from it and is set to return to action for Barca.
Barcelona are looking at Fati as an option to offload in the January transfer window, either as a permanent or a loan move. The player, however, wants to stay in Barcelona and fight for his place, as per reports from SPORT.
He knows that he will not get many opportunities in the starting lineup this season but still wants to prove his doubters wrong.
