Ansu Fati burst onto the scene at Barcelona as a young prodigy who was going to be the next big thing. He was sensational in his first season. However, since then, persistent injuries and surgeries have stagnated his development. He has been out on the sidelines for the majority of the moments, and when on the field, he has lacked confidence. Barca want to offload the 22-year-old player, and as per AS, Sevilla are one of the clubs who are looking to sign him.

Los Nervionenses are very interested in getting the player, but the high wages and the injury-prone career are making the club think about his signing. Since his return from his loan spell in Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, he has lacked confidence on the field while playing for Barca this season and is now out with another injury.

If Fati leaves for Sevilla in January on a loan move, the Blaugrana need to take care of a high percentage of his wages. This is what is complicating the move, and Sevilla are also skeptical due to the amount of injuries that the player has suffered in his career. Even his recent injury will keep him out for a considerable period, and he is not expected to be back in training till mid-December.

Garcia Pimienta is a fan of Ansu Fati despite his injury record

Garcia Pimienta, the current manager of Sevilla, did watch his development when he was the manager of Barca B. He still hopes to bring Fati to Sevilla despite his injury-prone track record. Fati was one of the hottest prospects of the youth team during Pimienta’s tenure and would have gone on to shine for the first team if not for the devastating injury spells that he has suffered.

Fati is just 22 years old, and hence, he definitely has time on his side. However, the high salary and the consistent injury troubles continue to make the negotiations between Barcelona and Sevilla complicated. It remains to be seen if the 22-year-old does move to the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in January or continues to play for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Barca suffered a loss against Las Palmas at home and now have 34 points in the La Liga table in 15 matches. Real Madrid are second in the league table with 33 points in 14 games and have a match in hand. Barca have dropped points in the last three games that they have played in the league.
