FC Barcelona have been handed a major boost ahead of the upcoming La Liga encounter vs. Celta Vigo, with Lamine Yamal set to make his return. The 17-year-old La Masia prodigy is expected to make an early return, after having suffered an injury in his right ankle.
Lamine Yamal suffered a grade one ankle syndesmosis, following Barcelona’s 5-2 UCL win over Crvena Zvezda. After managing to play the entire 90 minutes of the match, Yamal complained of ankle pain. This led to his subsequent exclusion from the Barca’s squad from their last match against Real Sociedad.
Barca shockingly lost the match 1-0. He also missed out on playing for Spain in the Nations League. Both the Catalan club and Spain opted for the youngster’s well-being, as he remained back for treatment.
Yamal’s initial diagnosis revealed that he might be out for at least two to three weeks, until December. However, recent reports indicate that the 17-year-old is positively reacting to his treatment regimen. His recovery period has also shortened to just a week.
His recovery process is reportedly progressing well with no pain in the affected area, and the forward will undergo further tests in training next week. He might return to the Barcelona side for their next match on 24 November, against Celta Vigo.
