Lionel Messi is arguably the biggest name in football and one of the most important figures in FC Barcelona’s history. The Argentine parted ways with the club in 2021 to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer and currently plies his trade in the MLS for Inter Miami.
Recently, the forward was rumored to return to Camp Nou for the club’s 125th anniversary, although subsequent reports have ruled out the possibility of the same. However, his commitments didn’t prevent him from heaping praise on his former club, with the No. 10 pointing out several positives in Hansi Flick‘s squad.
The Inter Miami man recently gave an interview in which he praised the new manager for his efforts. Barcelona is at the top of La Liga at the moment and maintains a six-point lead over rivals Real Madrid.

The former club captain drew parallels to that of how young players thrive ‘like they always have’ in the past when supported.
Hansi Flick ‘honored’ with Lionel Messi praise
FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick took charge on May 29, 2024, after the club parted ways with Xavi Hernandez. After nearly six months in charge, the German has transformed the club into a powerhouse, with impressive wings against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid being exhibitions of his side’s talent.
As Barcelona prepares to take on Celta Vigo at Balaidos, the manager responded to the praise from Lionel Messi.
