Pau Victor spent the last season on loan at Barca Athletic. This year, he was resigned by FC Barcelona from Girona. He can turn out to be a first-team player for Barcelona this season.
Meanwhile, Santi Ovalle reports that Barcelona wants to include Pau Victor in the squad for the first team this season. However, the club has to wait for his registration as they have issues practically every season regarding player registrations.
If he is not registered in the first team by the end of August, a solution will be implemented in the form of a loan or giving him a subsidiary number. This means that Barcelona will either loan him to a different club where he can play regularly. They can also assign him a subsidiary number and register him as a player with Barcelona Atletic.
Barcelona has always intended to include him as a first-team player in the senior side after the pre-season. He almost led Barca Athletic to promotion to Laliga 2 in the last season.
Pau Victor was sensational in the pre-season this season
Before the pre-season started, some board members felt it was best to sell him for a profit or loan him out. However, after the performances that he put forward in the pre-season in the USA, these thoughts have changed and Barca is desperate to add him to the squad of first team.
The new manager, Hansi Flick, sees him as an important part of the season and intends to keep him as a backup for Robert Lewandowski. The 22-year-old scored against sides like Manchester City and Real Madrid this pre-season. He was sensational as a striker and also displayed his skills in the wings.
Victor is ahead in the pecking order from the likes of Ansu Fati and Vitor Roque and hence Barcelona wants to register him in the first team as soon as possible. Roque may be on his way out and Fati has suffered yet another injury. Along with Victor, Barcelona does have a task left to register many other players like new signing Dani Olmo and defender Inigo Martinez.
