After a couple of seasons where they have struggled to live up to their billing, it seems that FC Barcelona have finally found their feet. From bringing in Hansi Flick to offloading dead weight and incorporating the likes of Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi into the first team, it appears that the club is ‘finally’ going in the right direction. Much to the excitement of fans, it is reported that the club are now looking to sign both Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

Both Williams and Olmo are familiar names at the club. While Williams has ‘hurt’ Barcelona several times in the past while playing for Athletic Bilbao, Olmo is a La Masia product himself. It is surprising to learn that Spain’s hero at the 2024 Euros once played for the Blaugrana’s academy. That being said, this won’t be the first time the 26-year-old is being linked to the club.

Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal exhibited unreal brilliance up front for Luis de la Fuente‘s Spanish contingent at the Euros. From combining to score the opener in the final to knocking out Germany in the quarters, the magic duo is easily one of the most sought after in the world.

To add both Olmo and Williams to an attack that already has Yamal will be nothing short of destruction for the rest of Europe.

Dani Olmo opens up about future and life at RB Leipzig

Dani Olmo was introduced into Spain’s starting line-up following Pedri‘s tournament-ending injury against Germany. However, the player has seized the opportunity to its fullest, scoring against both Germany and France in the quarter and semi-final respectively. Following the tournament, Olmo has been touted with a move away from the Bundesliga with FC Barcelona being the biggest name linked to the player.

The people who deal with this already know what I want. The most important thing for me is to be somewhere I am valued and to win. I've already won titles with Leipzig and they know how ambitious I am.
Dani Olmo said in a press conference

The forward has been linked to Barcelona after a successful Euro campaign with La Roja. It has also been reported that Barcelona’s new boss Hansi Flick prefers Olmo over Nico Williams, even though nothing has been finalized.

As for Williams, the club have already met with the 22-year-old’s representatives for a potential move to the club. After a major overhaul in terms of staff and trainers, it will be exciting to see how FC Barcelona will line up for the new season.
