The Champions League semi-finals are underway, and following an exhilarating match-up between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, social media has been in a fiery state ever since. Following a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena, supporters have drawn numerous conclusions as to who will go through.

Despite FC Barcelona being eliminated in the previous round, Bayern and Madrid fans made sure that they joined hands to express their ‘hate’ for the Blaugrana. A viral video on social media shows fans of either club chanting ‘p*ta Barcà, p*ta Barcà’ in unison. While Bayern and Real share a fierce rivalry between themselves, the footballing community found it amusing that their shared ‘hatred’ for Barcà made them join hands.

While Real Madrid share a historic rivalry in Spain with Barcelona, Bayern have come up against them on several occasions in the Champions League.

Bayern plotting ‘huge’ swap deal with FC Barcelona

Despite their long-standing rivalry and historically contrasting styles of play, Bayern Munich are interested in doing business with Barcelona. The German giant’s most prized midfielder, Joshua Kimmich will be out of contact at the end of next season. While efforts are being made towards an extension, failure to do so will result in the German being listed in the transfer market.

The Bavarians had criticized Barcelona for openly ‘teasing’ a move for Kimmich last season. However, as of now, reports suggest that the Bundesliga club are willing to include Kimmich in a swap deal, which either includes Ronald Araujo or Frenkie de Jong. The latter has time and again come up in the news for interest from other clubs.

While Bayern are willing to negotiate with Barcà, the latter understands that both Araujo and De Jong are more valuable than the German. Additionally, Barcelona will have to sell one of either Araujo or De Jong if they are to bring in prized target and Manchester City forward Bernardo Silva. The Portuguese is under contract with the club till 2026.
