After completely rejuvenating himself on the developmental brand, NXT, Baron Corbin was finally drafted to SmackDown in the 2024 WWE Draft. However, he returned to the blue brand with a slight change in character. It soon became clear that The Lone Wolf was now a full-fledged babyface for the first time in his 7-year main roster career.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, the leader of Legado Del Fantasma, Santos Escobar, wrestled Apollo Crews. The former Intercontinental Champion sought revenge on the villainous group for their backstage attack on him last week. Although the advantage was initially on the heels’ side, Baron Corbin soon evened the odds by taking out Angel and Berto. Even though he came out to help Crews, Escobar picked up the victory with the assistance of Elektra Lopez.
Since his debut on the main roster in 2017, the former Money in the Bank winner has always been a ‘heel’. He was never on the good side, and that’s why it was very hard for fans to get behind him. However, in his first match against Carmelo Hayes in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament after his return, fans cheered for him. Unfortunately, he lost the match and failed to progress further in the tournament.
Corbin had to settle things out with the former L.W.O. member after the latter insulted him earlier. It looks like this rivalry is just getting started, and fans might see Corbin and Crews join forces against Legado Del Fantasma on the upcoming episodes of SmackDown.
Baron Corbin comments on Bron Breakker’s recent actions on Raw
Bron Breakker has been on the path of destruction on Raw after not being included in the King of the Ring tournament. His former tag team partner, Corbin, expressed his honest opinion on social media about Bron’s recent actions.
A fan recently took to social media to praise X and stated how their tag team would be the most over thing on TV. The former U.S. Champion responded to that and made a hilarious comment about the 26-year-old star’s recent attitude. He suggested that they should give him a shot of rabies first, referencing his out-of-control rage.
I think we need to get Bron a rabies shot firstBaron Corbin on X
The two stars were quite the duo on the black and gold brand as the babyface NXT Tag Team Champions. Speaking about the former NXT Champion, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce told the fans to tune into the upcoming episode of Raw. Only time will tell what he has planned for Bron, who has been wreaking havoc for the past few weeks.
