Charles Barkley SAVAGELY trolls ‘Captain Obvious’ Kenny Smith over reaction to Kentucky vs. Oakland game
Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson have moved over to cover the NCAA March Madness.

Kenny Smith gets savagely trolled by Charles Barkley for his analysis of Kentucky's loss to Oakland in NCAA March Madness
The Inside the NBA crew usually takes a break from NBA analysis duties to focus on college basketball during NCAA’s March Madness. In tonight’s opening games, the trio of Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson were discussing the massive upset Kentucky faced against Oakland.
That is when Barkley savagely trolled Smith after his take on the game. Just like in the NBA, Kenny Smith was talking about what he took from the game between Kentucky and Oakland.
Barkley said:
The Kentucky Oakland game, was a, I think a dynamic loss, in terms of expectations of fans around the country. So that was probably big.Charles Barkley said
To this co-analyst Clark Kellogg asked back with:
Probably?Clark Kellogg asked
Charles Barkley added this to Kellogg’s retort:
Good job, Captain Obvious. Captain Obvious over here. That was a dynamic loss by Kentucky, Ernie.Charles Barkley responded
Barkley latching on to Kellogg’s retort to savagely troll Smith was the highlight. After all, they all knew that the former Houston Rockets guard was being too diplomatic with his analysis. Kenny Smith was being too modest while reacting to that massive upset Kentucky faced today. While everyone was calling the Wildcats and head coach John Calipari out, Smith was trying to force moderate words their way.
The game against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies was an abomination for the No. 3 seed Kentucky Wildcats. They were booted out of the Round of 64 by a No. 14 seed team despite having NBA-level talent in their squad. This is why Charles Barkley used Smith’s own words against him in savagely trolling his mild analysis.
Charles Barkley and his love for college basketball
‘The Round Mound of Rebound’, as Charles Barkley is known lovingly, is a college basketball fanatic. Ever since his days with Auburn University, Barkley has rooted for his Tigers. But his love for college basketball is such that he often gets into discussions about it.
Such as speaking with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver about how NIL deals have messed up college basketball. He shows up at Auburn games whenever he can and has a strong dismissive opinion about college rivals, Alabama.
What gives Charles Barkley his persona is his ‘I don’t care’ attitude when speaking his mind. And he wanted his colleague Kenny Smith to do just that instead of getting coy with his words. No wonder he jumped at the chance to troll his 2-time champion colleague as soon as he got the opportunity.
